Janet Frame Day Therapy Center

Janet Frame Day Therapy Center receives 148 patients in the catchment areas G03/12, 30 of whom are from day hospitals and 20 from CATTP (Part-time Therapy Center).

The center opens on average 260 days a year, 5 days a week from Monday to Friday.

The opening hours are as follows:

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Missions

Now that the time of stay in health institutions and the duration of hospitalization are reducing, hospital has become a place to treat acute episodes, seizures, relapses and to make regular assessments. “Stabilized” patients should find their place in their community. This is why social rehabilitation, which is followed up in the Day Hospital and CATTP, is essential to patients during their “therapy time”. It also explains why during their “social time” when housing, working and social life should be supported, social rehabilitation determines the organization of care.

Objectives

Care is structured around 3 aspects:

  • Reception
  • Readaptation and Cognitive remediation
  • Rehabilitation

The 3 aspects correspond to 3 care strategies:

Compensatory strategies working on psychomotor impoverishment with tools like culinary therapy, skills training, cognitive remediation, problem solving…

Learning strategies working on psychotic disorganization with care focusing on the awareness of the disorder, the control of symptoms, conversation skills and occupational therapy.

Corrective strategies working on distortion of reality with care for physical activity, health education, real-life situation, artistic and cultural mediation, self-image improvement…

Target population

All adults suffering mainly from psychotic disorders.

The time of stay varies according to the therapeutic project of each person. The end of care is carefully prepared in advance.

Mode of admission

Admission is studied upon medical indication by a multi-professional team.

We are on duty and provide care outside opening hours (weekends and public holidays).

Patients can contact or visit the Reception and Referral Psychiatry Department (SPAO) of Guillaume Régnier Hospital (CHGR) if necessary.

On workdays, patients can be received by the Medico-psychological Center (CMP) until 7 p.m. in case of difficulty.

Furthermore, we keep the attending physician closely related to better support the follow-up and to improve individual care provided in the psycho-education program.
