Opened in 2011, the Espace de la Chevalerie is a local day hospital for adult psychiatry consisting of two psychiatric wards (Clinique Psychiatrique Universitaire and Psychiatrie D). The Espace de la Chevalerie offers individualized treatments using individual therapies and group activities to help patients as much as possible throughout the recovery progress towards a satisfactory social and professional insertion.

Care offered

Our treatments include new therapeutic tools helping psychosocial rehabilitation for patients, such as:

• psychoeducation groups (“symptom management” group, “drug” group),
• cognitive remediation programs (CRT [Cognitive Remediation Therapy], RECOS [Cognitive Remediation in Schizophrenia], cognitive module in IPT [Integrated Psychological Treatment]),
• social cognition remediation programs (SCIT[Social Cognition and Interaction Training], Gaïa),
• metacognitive skills training groups (MCT [Metacognitive Training] - schizophrenia, MCT - borderline disorder),
• social and conversation skills training groups (“ability” games, dixiludo, acting),
• groups focused on symptoms (speech group on auditory hallucinations, Michael’s game),
• support and psychoeducation for families of patients with schizophrenia (Profamille groups),
• redirection to charitable or local associations,
• employment support,
• many other activities encouraging patients’ autonomy, socialization, sportive activities and self-esteem.
